What credit crunch?-the government's spending spree
CNN, Fox News, NBC, CBS, 60 minutes constantly remind us of the imminent danger we face. We need this bailout and this stimulus and this and that. It's like a little kid in the candy store where the parent doesn't know what they are doing; all they do is sit there and say yes. The solution is to merely say no and move on. America needs to rise up and say NO. I don't know If I need that stimulus package. I appreciate, though, that they refer to it as a package. Oh, really? Is it a gift. Thanks, I would love a trillion dollar gift that I see no part of. Wait, I have to pay for it twenty years from now? You're too much. Do we really need to spend all this money? People spending money is what got us into this mess in the first place. America needs to stop sitting around and tell the President we want our change NOW! For the last eight years we have sat and watched as the he shall not be named destroyed America's credit like a 21-year old with an unlimited credit line. Dear Mr. President one way to show America you're working for change would be to freeze all government spending. Stop it like now. Like today. The president has/had a trasition team that identified key cabinet members and advisers. Well he should use that idea and expound on it. He should create an internal task force to review, audit, and prioritize the government offices that support America. As a proud American, I am appalled and embarrassed every day I have to read about the failures of FEMA, the SEC, and the DEA. Does the hypocrisy and idiocracy ever end? Ever? It's exhausting and it hurts. I know down deep there are plenty of intelligent, patriotic, and pragmatic people that could make this government work. Obama needs to find these people and overhaul all of the government. I understand change starts at the top, but change can't just occur at the top. Change must permeate throughout the whole government. Top to bottom. Once the government has been gutted and realigned only then can we readdress spending. I understand a stimulus is needed to reinvigorate the economy. Education and infrastructure funds are drying up. And a million other problems rise to surface each day. So then why did Congress remove $40 billion in aid for Education aid? I understand spending money but why can't we be smart about it? Why can't Congress sit down and look at the needs of the people they represent? Why can't Congress say obviously part of the problem is we spend too much money, let's cut back like the reset of the American people? I bet those representatives love their high horses and have a nice chuckle at the cost of that stimulus. I mean it's not like they are going to pay for it. Oops, sorry Mr. Daschle. Well don't worry America those trusty representatives are just getting started. Eventually, we've got a housing bailout coming your way. Maybe they'll throw some more money GM and Chrysler's way. But wait here's the kicker. This whole little mess that the we've all gotten ourselves into can be attributed to partly a lack of regulation. But don't worry, your government is very concerned about those swindlers like Bernie Madoff($50 billion) and Allen Stanford($8 billion). They were concerned enough, as Raw Story states, to have Regulatory provisions deleted from the bill. Hopefully, President Obama will rise up for the American people and demand our protection from the corruption and carelessness that brought us here in the first place.
